May is National Bike Month, and FABB is asking you to join us in celebrating all the joys and benefits of bicycling while encouraging more people to bike for work, errands, and pleasure.

We hope everyone will use Bike Month to get out for a ride and share with the others your love of bicycling.

A great first opportunity is National Bike & Roll to School Day on May 3. FABB encourages parents and students to celebrate the joy of active commuting while building a stronger sense of community and school spirit. Check with your local schools to see about planned events.

Another opportunity is National Ride A Bike Day on Sunday, May 7. Use the day to substitute a bike ride for a car trip or for a leisurely family ride around your neighborhood. There are so many ways to use a bike for fun, fitness, and shopping.

You also can plan now to participate in Bike to Work Week 2023, which will take place May 15-21, 2023, to celebrate bicycling as a clean, fun and healthy way to get to work.

And, of course, the highlight of the month is Bike to Work Day (BTWD) on Friday, May 19! You can register for free to get a 2023 BTWD t-shirt and then take advantage of one of the many pitstops around the region to pick up your t-shirt, enjoy free food and drink, collect freebies, and learn more about bicycling.

No matter how you choose to celebrate, getting out to ride helps promote safer streets, connected communities, a healthier planet, and happier people.

Keep visiting our website and social media for details on other Bike Month events.
