During our annual appeal, we always try to emphasize that donating your time is just as valuable as any financial gift. As we prepare to celebrate 20 Years Behind Us, Generations Ahead to Inspire, we’re looking for passionate volunteers to help make 2025 a year to remember!

Volunteers have always been the backbone of FABB’s successes, from advocating for safer streets and promoting bicycling education to representing cyclists’ interests across Fairfax County. Now, as we plan a year of celebratory activities, we need your help more than ever.

Whether you enjoy public events, behind-the-scenes planning, or online engagement, we have exciting opportunities to fit your interests and schedule.

Celebration Event Coordinator: Help us organize and oversee our 20th-anniversary events, from community rides to outreach campaigns. This is your chance to shape the yearlong celebration!

Volunteer Coordinator: We need an outgoing individual to recruit and manage volunteers, maintain a database, and ensure everyone has a role in making our anniversary year a success.

Social Media Assistants: Love engaging online? Join our social media team to promote our 20th-anniversary activities and spread the word about FABB’s mission.

Social Ride Organizer: Plan celebratory group rides and recruit ride leaders to connect cyclists of all levels throughout the year.

Public Event Representatives: Staff FABB tables at events like Bike to Work Day and anniversary celebrations. Share our mission, promote membership, and connect with the community.

Meeting Representatives: Represent FABB and the cycling community at key public meetings on bike infrastructure and related transportation, and safety issues. Help FABB maintain its connections to other organizations advocating for smart growth, the environment, and health that contribute to better biking.

Corporate Sponsorship Coordinator: Help secure local business sponsors for our anniversary activities and ongoing programs by identifying contacts, setting up meetings, and presenting proposals.

Volunteering with FABB is a great way to share your passion for cycling, contribute to your community, and help others enjoy riding as much as you do. Time commitments vary by role, so whether you have a few hours or a more flexible schedule, there’s a place for you on our team.
