Friday, September 22, 2023 is Car Free Day! Take the Car Free Day pledge at www.carfreemetrodc.org and then make plans to bike, walk, or roll (or take transit or carpool) to show your support for greener methods of travel to reduce pollution.

Commuter Connections hosts Car Free Day in the DC region to raise awareness of the benefits of transit, bicycling, walking, and any other travel option that is lighter on the wallet and the environment than driving alone in a car. Using more sustainable ways to get around helps reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions and traffic congestion. The more people who travel using bicycles, buses, trains, carpools and vanpools, the fewer pollutants are released into the atmosphere.

Even if you’re already car free, take the free pledge because participants get a number of benefits. Everyone making the pledge will receive a confirmation email with a promocode for 50% off orders at All About Burger in Arlington and DC—valid on Car Free Day only—and a $30 Nift online gift code, valid through October 31. Plus, you’ll be automatically eligible to win great raffle prizes, including a Samsung Galaxy phone, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority SmarTrip Card (with fare), Capital Bikeshare Annual Membership, Virginia Railway Express Commuter Train Pass, Shake Shack and Nando’s food, and more.

Don’t wait! Make the pledge today!
