Plan now to join the Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail and other local lovers of the trail to commemorate its 50th anniversary. #MVT50 will celebrate a truly monumental trail on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with guest speakers and family-friendly activities.

George Washington Memorial Parkway Superintendent Charles Cuvelier, Arlington County Board Chair Katie Cristol, Alexandria City Council Member Sarah Bagley, and Fairfax County Supervisor Dan Storck and others will be there to honor five decades of natural beauty, community partnership, and volunteer stewardship of one of the great public resources that makes the Washington area special.

The event will be held at Daingerfield Island, 1 Marina Drive, in Alexandria and there will be booths featuring the National Park Service ParkMobile, Bike Arlington, Capital Bikeshare, Go Alex, Capital Trails Coalition, East Coast Greenway, Rosslyn Business Improvement District, Friends of Dyke Marsh and more.

The event is free and open to the public, but please register here today to let the planners know you’re coming.
