Registration is now open for the 11th Annual Tour de Mount Vernon Community Bike Ride, taking place Saturday, October 31, 2026!
FABB encourages local riders to sign up now and start preparing to celebrate biking and Halloween with one of Fairfax County’s great community cycling traditions.
FABB is once again one the proud sponsors of the event, hosted by Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck, which combines bicycling with an opportunity to explore some of the historic, cultural, and natural treasures of southern Fairfax County. And because this year’s ride falls on Halloween, costumes are encouraged, with a costume contest before riders head out.
The ride begins and ends at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton and offers 20-mile and 40-mile routes using a combination of paved roads and trails. Along the way, riders will pass or visit some of the Mount Vernon District’s best-known destinations, including Mason Neck State Park, Gunston Hall, Pohick Bay Regional Park, the National Museum of the U.S. Army, and the Gerry Connolly Cross County Trail. Ride monitors and Fairfax County Police will help riders navigate the routes and keep the event running safely.
Registration is $35 per rider and includes a ride bag with tie-dye socks, a sweet potato chili lunch from La Prima Catering, and a $5 donation to FABB to support better bicycling in Fairfax County.

Check-in runs from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m., with riders departing between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. After completing the ride, participants can return to the Workhouse for food, music, fun, and beverages from Bunnyman Brewing. The event is rain or shine, helmets are required, and children are welcome when accompanied by an adult, although the routes are intended for experienced riders.
The Tour de Mount Vernon is always a terrific way to enjoy a fall ride while discovering parts of Fairfax County you might otherwise speed past. This year, Halloween should make it even more fun.
