Please plan on joining Sierra Club Virginia members and supporters at a community forum to learn more about how local residents can act to expand transportation options near Route 1. The forum is on April 24, at 7:00 pm at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 8412 Richmond Avenue, in Alexandria.

FABB is proud to be working with the Sierra Club to promote bicycling, walking and transit as safe and reliable transportation choices that help to shape better communities and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. A panel of speakers, including FABB Board Member Alexis Glenn, will focus on how transportation investments are made, on location solutions that will expand options, and on how citizens can make a difference to promote more transportation choices.

In addition to connecting with other people who care about this issue, attendees will learn about how transportation decision are made in their community and about specific ways anyone can make a difference, including writing letters to the editor, participating in public meetings, speaking at upcoming public hearings, gathering public comments and more. The forum is a wonderful opportunity for you to provide input about your experiences and concerns accessing transportation options such as walking, bicycling and transit for everyday trips to work, shopping, school, etc. in the Alexandria area. Please join us in speaking up so that public officials and planners hear community voices advocating for sustainable transportation solutions that address the needs of residents and ensures a healthy environment.
