FABB encourages local riders to show their support for better infrastructure by attending the FCDOT groundbreaking ceremony for the new W&OD Trail bridge over Wiehle Avenue in Reston. The event will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 10:00 am at the Reston Fire & Rescue Parking lot.

The long-planned bridge will improve bicycle and pedestrian access near the Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station. According to the original plans, the new bridge will accommodate both the gravel path and asphalt W&OD Trail. Utility relocation and site preparation—and accompanying detours for trail users—occurred last year. Construction is planned for completion this fall.
