FABB is excited to join in Commuter Connections’ efforts to promote Car Free Day 2024! This worldwide event encourages everyone to explore greener methods of travel, reducing the number of cars on the road, and making a positive impact on the environment.
Mark your calendars! On Monday, September 23, 2024, the Washington, DC metropolitan area will celebrate Car Free Day. This is your chance to make a difference by teleworking, using transit, carpooling/vanpooling (Car-Lite), biking, scooting, or walking. Even if you’re already car-free, you can still participate and pledge your support!
Why Participate? Car Free Day highlights the benefits of sustainable travel options such as transit, bicycling, and walking. It’s a great way to reduce your carbon footprint and help decrease harmful greenhouse gas emissions and traffic congestion. The more people who choose alternatives like bicycles, buses, trains, carpools, and vanpools, the fewer pollutants are released into the atmosphere.
By taking the 2024 Car Free Day pledge at www.carfreemetrodc.org, you’ll receive a promo code for a FREE 30-minute Capital Bikeshare ride on an ebike or classic bike.
