Bike to Work Day is Friday, May 15, 2026—and we need your help to make it count.
Each year, thousands of riders across Fairfax County take part in Bike to Work Day (BTWD), stopping at locations across the region to celebrate biking as a healthy, practical, and fun way to get around. This year, there are more than 20 pit stops across Fairfax County—and every one of them is an opportunity to connect with riders, share FABB’s mission, and advocate for better biking.
Why Volunteer?
When you represent FABB at a pit stop, you’re doing more than greeting riders—you’re helping build the future of bicycling in Fairfax County.
With our help and some FABB merch, you will:
- Encourage more people to consider biking for commuting and daily trips
- Share how FABB is working to improve bike lanes, trails, and safety
- Connect with community members who care about active transportation
- Help demonstrate public demand for continued investment in biking infrastructure
Every conversation helps move Fairfax County toward safer, more connected streets.
Where We Need Volunteers
We’re looking for FABB volunteers to serve as friendly, knowledgeable ambassadors at pit stops across the county. Right now, many locations still need coverage—including key areas around Alexandria, Chantilly, Herndon, Reston, Springfield, and Vienna.
What’s Involved?
Volunteering is simple and rewarding:
- Spend a few hours at a pit stop during the morning commute
- Welcome riders and help create a positive, energetic atmosphere
- Share information about FABB and local biking efforts
- Enjoy the event, meet fellow cyclists, and be part of the community
