Artist’s vision of a future West Falls Church Metro.

WMATA is holding a public hearing this week on proposed changes to commuter parking and bus facilities at the West Falls Church Metro Station that are needed to support the transformation of the station area into a walkable, transit-oriented community.

FABB wants riders to show your support for the redevelopment of the West Falls Church Metro Station into a walkable, bike-friendly, transit-oriented community. FABB Encourages local riders to participate in WMATA public hearing, this Wednesday, October 19, at 6:30 pm at the Virginia Tech Northern Virginia Center at 7054 Haycock Road, Falls Church.

WMATA is proposing changes to promote transit-oriented development, increase Metro ridership, enhance bicycle and pedestrian access to the station, and modernize transit facilities. We need riders to show that their support for proposals for significant pedestrian and bike improvements.

We believe WMATA board approval of these facility changes for the transit-oriented development will create a vibrant community and increase rail and bus ridership at West Falls Church.

If unable to attend the public hearing, please submit comments on line in support of these changes by October 31. Click here to learn more about the proposals and to submit comments.
