FABB wishes everyone a very happy new year and hopes the coming months are filled with bicycling.

As you make your plans for 2020, we encourage new and old riders to visit our Resources page for information to make your rides safe and fun. We also recommend that you visit Virginia’s Statewide Bicycling and Pedestrian Program webpage, which includes maps, laws and safety tips, and information on places to travel.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) also has a new ArcGIS online map (“Virginia Interactive Bicycle Web Map“) that provides new information and combines data from other sources into one place. Available layers include bicycle facilities, train station information, US Bicycle Routes, unpaved roads, roadways prohibited to bicyclists, and traffic volumes. One great feature of the new map is that any rider who finds missing or incorrect information on the map can provide corrections and other feedback directly to VDOT here. Helping to improve the map is a great way to show Richmond the interest and strength of the bicycling community, so please provide your feedback.
