FABB recently learned the Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) last November completed the installation of 48 custom bike racks at 18 local parks. This is a major enhancement to the parks and, during the ongoing pandemic, facilitates outdoor activity to help county residents stay physically and mentally healthy.
According to Adam Wynn, an FCPA project manager, the racks were added to parks that provided access to regional trails, lacked adequate bike parking, and offered diverse recreational activities. These included South Run District, Huntsman, Hidden Pond, Hooes Road, Bryon Avenue, Lake Accotink, Wakefield, Annandale, Roundtree, Eakin Community, Eakin Mantua, Towers, Nottoway, Idylwood, Tysons Woods, Colvin Run Mills, and Difficult Run Stream Valley.
Kudos to FCPA for helping to make bicycling better in Fairfax County.
