Sonya Breehey, our current president and a long-time advocate for better bicycling, was recently selected by the Coalition for Smarter Growth to be its Northern Virginia Advocacy Manager. Sonya will continue to lead FABB as she takes on her new duties, which focus on Fairfax County land use, transportation, housing, and environmental issues and overlap nicely with many FABB goals.
FABB and CSG share a vision of walkable, bicycle-friendly, mixed-use, mixed-income, transit-oriented development in Fairfax County. In addition to creating safe bicycle and pedestrian-friendly communities, CSG works hard to make public transportation better, promote affordable housing solutions and good urban design, and fight climate change.
We’re looking forward to doing even more with the coalition, which is the leading organization making the case for smart growth in the City of Alexandria and Arlington and Fairfax Counties, the District of Columbia, and Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties in Maryland.
