This fall, two great anniversaries come together for one unforgettable day of riding.
On Saturday, October 18, 2025, we invite you to join us for the 10th Annual Tour de Mount Vernon—a fun, scenic, and community-driven ride hosted by Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck. This year’s ride starts and ends at the historic Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House, and Fairfax Alliance for Better Bicycling (FABB) is proud to be a sponsoring partner.
We’re especially excited because 2025 also marks FABB’s 20th anniversary. For two decades, we’ve been working to make Fairfax County a safer, more accessible place to bike—and events like this one help keep that momentum going. In fact, a portion of every registration supports our advocacy and outreach efforts. So, when you sign up, you’re not just going for a ride—you’re investing in a better future for bicycling in Fairfax.
The ride will kick off at 8:30 a.m. and take riders on a fun journey through the Mount Vernon District with route options of 20 or 40 miles. Riders will enjoy views of the Potomac River, pedal past historic landmarks like Mount Vernon Estate and Fort Hunt Park, and roll through scenic stretches of the Mount Vernon Trail, River Farm, and even Fort Belvoir (with pre-vetting required) on the long route. Along the way, you’ll find rest stops, support from ride monitors and local police, and a welcoming community of fellow riders.
When the ride wraps up, the celebration continues back at Woodlawn with live music, La Prima’s famous sweet potato chili, and—if you register early—a pair of limited-edition tie-dye TdMV anniversary socks. Riders who sign up by September 5 will lock in the discounted early-bird rate and be guaranteed their socks, but everyone who registers through ride day will receive lunch, a site discount coupon, and the satisfaction of knowing they’re helping fund safer streets.
Don’t wait! Register today and find more details about the ride here!
The Tour de Mount Vernon is a great tradition that brings together everything we love about bicycling: community, history, health, and joy. Come ride with us this October. Let’s celebrate ten years of this great event—and twenty years of bike advocacy with FABB.
