• Reliable multi-modal transportation options make it easier for people to incorporate bicycling into their commuting and short-distance travel plans.
  • Better bicycling in Fairfax County requires better bus service.

FABB encourages everyone to Speak Up! in support of a Fairfax Connector bus system that provides improved service and increased multi-modal options. Fairfax County is updating its 10-year Transit Strategic Plan (TSP) and is seeking community inputs through this Friday, February 19, 2021.

FABB recommends that riders’ comments should focus on upgraded bus stops that can be safely reached by bike with bike racks for secure parking at appropriate locations. To support greater reliance on bicycles for more trips, comments should emphasize the need for actions that increase bus frequency, more affordable fares, better technology and information to make buses faster and easier to use, and dedicated bus lanes to speed trips and make bus rides more appealing to commuters and others. You can provide your comments to the survey here.

In addition, you can find more details on proposed improvements in the Franconia-Springfield, Reston-Herndon, Centreville-Chantilly-Vienna-Tysons (CCVT), and Huntington areas at the county’s Transit Strategic Plan website.

Please don’t wait. Speak Up! now and support better bicycling in Fairfax County.
