Fairfax County is seeking public input and participation in the development of the ActiveFairfax Transportation Plan. Active transportation means self-propelled, human-powered travel including walking, biking, rolling (scooter/wheelchair/stroller), hiking, running and riding. The ActiveFairfax Transportation Plan will establish a vision and a roadmap for implementation of safe, convenient, and enjoyable streets, sidewalks, bike facilities, and trails in Fairfax County.
FABB encourages everyone to get involved and share their ideas by using one or all of the following means.
- Take a Survey: Help Fairfax County understand how you currently use active transportation – to travel to a destination, for recreation or exercise, or just for fun – and share your ideas on the future of active transportation in Fairfax County. The online survey is available in English, Español, Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Urdu, and Vietnamese.
- Map Your Ideas: Share your experience with biking in the county as well as your needs by adding information to two interactive maps on destinations for and barriers to active travel and on missing links in the active transportation network. To watch a video to learn how to complete the survey and maps click here. If you would like to request a paper copy of the survey, email [email protected] or call 877-5600, TTY 711.
- Share Your Thoughts: Have more to say? Send your ideas and comments to the Active Transportation Team via email to [email protected] or call 877-5600, TTY 711.
A series of community meetings and additional engagement opportunities will be scheduled during the development of the ActiveFairfax Transportation Plan. FABB will be ready to provide updates and details on future engagement opportunities.
Community input will be accepted through Saturday, May 1, 2021, so don’t delay and share your ideas now!
