VDOT announced recently that Brian Leckie has joined the NOVA District Transportation Planning team to serve as the district bicycle/pedestrian and park and ride lot coordinator within the multimodal planning team. He replaces Heidi Mitter, who is now the NOVA District Multimodal Transportation Planning Manager (Congratulations, Heidi!).

Brian earned a B.A in Urban Studies from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013, as well as a Master of City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University in 2017. Brian has nearly seven years of experience as a transportation planner, most recently as the transportation planner for the City of Manassas.

FABB looks forward to working with Brian in anticipation that his experience and perspective will bring more opportunities to drive forward our shared goals of improved safety, connectivity, and sustainability in transportation. As we look forward to collaborating with Brian, Heidi, and the entire VDOT team, we remain committed to advocating for the interests and safety of bicyclists and pedestrians in our region.

Welcome, Brian! We’re anxious to start our common journey toward a more bike-friendly and walkable Northern Virginia, ensuring a healthier, more connected, and vibrant community for all.
