- Show your support for Sully District’s planned buffered bike lanes!
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and the Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) will hold a virtual public meeting on proposed paving and restriping changes in the Sully District on Thursday, April 21, at 7:00 pm.
Sully is Fairfax County’s luckiest district for the 2022 repaving season. VDOT and FCDOT are adding buffered bike lanes in two locations.
Proposed Braddock Road Buffered Bike Lanes
Braddock Road: FCDOT and VDOT are proposing to add buffered or standard bike lanes between Belle Pond Drive and Sully Station Drive WHERE SPACE ALLOWS by narrowing travel lanes or converting underutilized travel lanes WHERE FEASIBLE. We need local riders to participate in expanding the determination of what is feasible and allowable.
Proposed Centreville Farms Buffered Bike Lanes
Centreville Farms Road: FCDOT and VDOT are proposing to convert the outside travel lanes to buffered bike lanes between Lee Highway and Stringfellow Road. We need local riders to speak up in support of this addition and offer ideas on how to optimize its safety and accessibility.

As always, bikers will be able to provide striping-related feedback by submitting comments online with a deadline two weeks after each district meeting is held. You can submit comments to FCDOT here until May 5, 2022.
