The Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) and Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold its second paving and restriping meeting this year for the Springfield District. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 26, at 6:30 pm at Liberty Middle School, 6801 Union Mill Road, in Clifton.

Unfortunately, there are no restriping changes planned for the Springfield District this year, which means there will be no added bike facilities as part of the program. The meeting still provides an opportunity for local bicyclists and other residents to speak directly with road engineers and transportation planners about the ongoing need for safety improvements in the district. We encourage local riders to attend the meeting and speak up for more bike lanes and sharrows. The meeting will begin at 6:30 pm with a formal presentation beginning at 6:45 pm.

As a reminder, VDOT welcomes paving-related comments year round on matters such as drainage issues, missing signage, signal repair, walkway repair, and sight distance issues due to vegetation overgrowth. These should be submitted through the myVDOT portal: https://my.vdot.virginia.gov/.
