New FABB Executive Director Matt Roberts

FABB President Sonya Breehey announced this week that we have hired Matt Roberts as our first-ever Executive Director. In her announcement, Sonya noted that Matt brings a wealth of experience in growing and leading mission-driven nonprofit organizations. She added that “we look forward to working with him to achieve FABB’s vision of making bicycling safe and accessible for everyone in Fairfax County.”

Matt, an avid bicyclist currently residing in the District, said that he was thrilled to be joining FABB at this pivotal time. He welcomes the opportunity to work with “a dedicated Board of Directors and hundreds of enthusiastic supporters and allies” as FABB continues efforts to create safer streets for everyone in Fairfax County. Mentioning the disturbing trend in traffic fatalities among pedestrians and bicyclists in the county, Matt is committed to helping FABB continue its work with communities, government leaders, and local businesses to make bicycling safer, more accessible, and far more common.

Prior to joining FABB, Matt held leadership roles with local, national, and international nonprofit organizations focused on clean energy and sustainable infrastructure. Matt has also served on the Board of Directors for the Global Energy Storage Alliance, Tilt Studio Art Foundation, and as a member of the DC Technology Advisory Group.

Please join us in welcoming Matt to FABB!
