Over the years hundreds of bicyclists on Bike to Work Day (BTWD) have learned about FABB and signed up to receive our emails at a FABB table at a local BTWD pit stop. The rider interest and involvement developed at this annual tabling event has allowed FABB to expand our alliances and pursue our advocacy.

The number of pit stops in Fairfax County continue to expand each year and we are looking for volunteers to staff a FABB table at one of the Fairfax County pit stop locations on this year’s Bike to Work Day, Friday, May 19.

Each BTWD pit stop is different but all feature free T-shirts for registered riders, free snacks and beverages, and bike-related freebies (all while supplies last).

Staffing a FABB table is easy. Your main task is to greet and cheer on BTWD participants, share information about bicycling in Fairfax County, and encourage them to get involved with FABB by signing up for our emails and newsletter. Where possible, we will put first-time volunteers with experienced members.

FABB will provide volunteers a tablecloth, logo, handout materials, talking points, and membership signup information for their table (note: some pit stop managers may ask you to bring a small table). Our table representatives can expect to spend 2-3 hours in the early morning at the pit stops to serve bike commuters and other riders.  We will need volunteers to pick up and return unused supplies to a central Fairfax location.

Don’t wait to select your preferred pit stop, and visit SignUpGenius to volunteer today!
