FABB spreading the good word at Burke Farmers’ Market last week.
Thanks to all the FABB volunteers supporting Bike to Market Week last week and thanks to everyone who took advantage of the opportunity to pedal for some great produce.
Our representatives reported that there was a good turnout by riders at all of the farmers’ markets, where everyone who biked received a canvas shopping bag provided by the Fairfax County Park Authority. FABB members got to share advice on routes and other matters with fellow riders while encouraging them to use their bikes even more. They also got to talk to potential riders about the benefits and joys of biking for replacing cars for short trips and recreation.
Again, many thanks to our volunteers at the markets and behind-the-scenes, to the Park Authority for staging a great week-long event, and to all of the riders who participated. These demonstrations of the benefits of biking for health, fitness, and fun help make bicycling better in Fairfax County.
