FABB is proud to be joining with the Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) next month to celebrate Bike to Farmers Market Week during July 16-22 and we’re encouraging local riders to plan now to join us.
FCPA operates 10 farmers markets across the county to provide county residents access to locally grown products and create market opportunities for area farmers and food producers.
This is a great opportunity of local riders to take advantage of the health, fitness, and fun benefits of biking and fresh food. Just like biking, farmers markets help to build communities. Getting out of cars and onto bikes adds to the markets’ spirit of good health, fresh air, and low stress shopping.
Other than your bike, all you need is a shopping list, bike panniers or a large backpack, some reusable bags, ice packs for safely transporting meat and cheese, and a small towel, t-shirt, or lidded plastic container to protect fragile items such as eggs. Market staff have created bike maps for each market that will be available during the event.
Plan now to join us at the farmers markets! See you there!
