FABB encourages local riders to Speak Up! at the upcoming virtual public meeting hosted by the Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) on April 10 at 7 pm. The meeting aims to introduce and discuss proposed transportation enhancements designed to promote safety, sustainability, and connectivity within the Providence District community under the 2024 Paving and Restriping Program.
Highlighted Proposals for Providence District are:
- Bike Lanes on Anderson Road running from Birdwood Avenue to Magarity Road, which aim to offer a secure and dedicated pathway for cyclists. This initiative seeks to encourage cycling as an eco-friendly and healthy mode of transportation, improving cyclist safety and access within the district.
- Capital Bikeshare Station Near Anderson Road and Dartford Drive: a new Capital Bikeshare station near this intersection will enhance mobility options for residents and visitors alike. By providing accessible, shareable bicycles, this can be a significant step toward expanding sustainable transportation alternatives and promoting an active lifestyle in our community.
