• Community survey shows top priority is improving walking and biking conditions and connectivity.

The Tysons Community Alliance (TCA) released a strategic plan earlier this month that stressed the importance of “Connecting Tysons” in the future development of the city. The group is exploring strategies to use investments in transportation to enhance safety, improve access, and connect Tysons through a multimodal network. Importantly, its strategic plan aligns with the broader Fairfax County Strategic Plan and One Fairfax Policy.

The TCA Strategic Plan process began last spring and engaged a broad cross section of private and public sector leaders and residents as it focused on economic and community development needs.

  • A community survey showed that a top priority for respondents was improving walking and biking conditions and connectivity, which meshed with the group’s mission.
  • One of the plan’s themes, “Build Connections and Enhance Mobility,” highlighted the goal of improving the accessibility of Tysons for all modes of transportation, particularly walking, bicycling and transit.

Established in October 2022, the TCA is an independent, non-profit community improvement organization committed to the ongoing transformation of Tysons into a vibrant, inclusive, globally attractive urban center. The group supports initiatives and technologies that improve and promote connectivity by bringing together key representatives in the public and private sectors to advance capital projects that support increased access and safety.

FABB is proud to be an organizational member of the TCA and to be part of the effort to make Tysons a bike friendly community.
