• Take the WMATA Biking and Walking to Metro survey before September 30.

More biking. Less driving. A better commute. That’s the promise of a well-connected, multimodal transportation system—and we need your help to make it a reality.

WMATA is asking for your input on how to improve access to Metrorail stations by foot, bike, and scooter. If you ride Metro—or want to start—take WMATA’s short biking and walking to Metro survey before it closes on September 30.

At FABB, we’ve long advocated for infrastructure that supports safe and convenient biking and transit use. Whether it’s secure bike parking, safer streets, or better first/last-mile connections, small changes can open big opportunities for commuters, our economy, and the environment.

The survey explores potential improvements like:

  • Safer, more direct bike routes to stations
  • Secure lockers and Bike & Ride facilities
  • Space for bikes and scooters on trains
  • More Capital Bikeshare and scooter options
  • Kid-friendly shared bikes
  • Discounts for bike+Metro transfers

FABB encourages you to rate the ideas that would make you more likely to use Metro as part of your daily trips. There’s also space to share your personal experiences—what works, what doesn’t, and what would get you riding more.

More biking and transit means fewer cars, cleaner air, and a better commute for everyone. But we need government and industry partners to understand our needs in order to build the systems that make it possible.

Don’t wait! Take the biking and walking survey today, and let’s keep the momentum going for active transportation in Fairfax County.
