The Fairfax County Department of Transportation is hosting two virtual public meetings next week on countywide active transportation project funding on Tuesday, October 3, and Thursday, October 5. A countywide survey requesting input on the prioritization of these projects will go live on October 3 and run through October 16, providing another opportunity to Speak Up! and share your about local conditions and needs.

FCDOT’s active transportation team will use its Active Transportation Project Prioritization for Funding meeting to present how the current list of projects was developed and will seek input from the community. This public input will help FCDOT narrow the proposed list of projects to receive a portion of $100 million in funding allocated by the Board of Supervisors. This new funding is for one-time investments in safer pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure through 2027. To date, $30.2 million of the dedicated $100 million has been allocated for active transportation improvements and maintenance.

You can find information about the projects proposed for your district here.
