The National Bike Summit, the major gathering of bike advocates from around the country, will be held between March 9-12, 2019, at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington. As we have for the past several years, FABB would like to sponsor the attendance of one or more members interested in becoming more knowledgeable, effective, and active bicycle advocates.
The theme for the 2019 Summit is “SHIFT: Accelerating the Movement to Build a Bicycle Friendly America for Everyone.” The goal is to prepare advocates for the next big shift in transportation as systems are disrupted by innovations such as bikeshare and e-bikes and by the growing embrace of active transportation as critical to healthy populations by communities, businesses, and government. As usual, attendees will participate in a wide range of workshops and will go to Capitol Hill on “Lobby Day” to speak to their elected representatives or their staff.
