Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to staff a FABB table at one of the 28 pit stops in Fairfax County this year. We still need several more volunteers to cover our priority pit stops as well as the other pit stops around the county. If you can’t volunteer, then please be sure to register as a participant and get out and Bike to Work on Friday, May 19th. With or without a FABB volunteer, the pit stops are fantastic and have great snacks and other freebies.
Staffing a FABB table is easy. Where possible, we will put first-time volunteers with experienced members. Your main task is to greet and cheer on BTWD participants, share information about bicycling in Fairfax, and encourage them to get involved with FABB by signing up for our newsletter. Once you are signed up, we will follow up with additional information about specific pits stops and provide you talking points and handouts for the table. Also, be sure to sign up as a participant in BTWD here to get your free t-shirt.
As of today, we could really use another volunteer at the popular Tysons Corner Center pit stop (there will be Cinnabon!) and two at the equally popular Reston Station stop. Pit stops at the Herndon Town Hall, Fair Lakes Center, Burke VRE Station, Mount Vernon (3 locations), and Springfield (2).
