How do students travel to school?

How much physical activity are children in Virginia getting?

If you’re a parent or caregiver in the Commonwealth, Virginia Safe Routes to School (SRTS) wants to hear from you!

Virginia SRTS is conducting a Spring parent and caregiver survey to understand how students travel to school.  This is a follow up from last year’s survey looking at the travel and activity levels of our students.  During last year’s survey, 49% of parents reported their child was biking more in their neighborhood.

The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete and is available in English and Spanish. Fill it out by March 31 and become eligible for the chance to win a $25 cash card!

Data is a powerful tool and helps our elected officials make decisions on infrastructure spending that makes Fairfax more walk/bike friendly.

The SRTS program has been active in Virginia since 2007 and helps schools and communities make walking and biking to school a safe, convenient, natural activity.  If you’re new to SRTS, be sure to check out this program brochure for some quick facts about Virginia Safe Routes to School.
