The Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) recently concluded a study of bicycle and pedestrian facilities in the Huntington Metrorail Station neighborhood. The report’s recommendations for lower speed limits, shared use paths, and improved lighting in selected areas are potential game changers for active transportation in Huntington.

But, unless Fairfax County and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) fund and prioritize work on these infrastructure recommendations, then the game remains the same.

FABB is asking for your support to make these recommendations a reality! Please contact Mount Vernon Supervisor Dan Storck and Franconia Supervisor Rodney Lusk and ask that they press for funding for these recommended improvements.

This is an infrastructure investment that benefits everyone by getting more people out of cars, reducing congestion and pollution, enhancing public transit, and energizing businesses in the Huntington area.
