Douglas Stewart, one of FABB’s founders and an active volunteer with several civic organizations, will be leaving the FABB Board in January. Douglas was integral to the formation of FABB in 2005 as a part of the Washington Area Bicyclist Association. Later, he played a major role in FABB’s transition to an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2015 and has been on the Board of Directors since then. We are sincerely grateful for the dedication, thoughtfulness, experience, and grace that he brought to all of his board duties.

His fellow board members will miss working with him on managing FABB, but Douglas has assured everyone that he will remain active in the organization. Douglas plans to continue his involvement with the Fairfax City Citizens for Smarter Growth while also serving as the Grants Specialist for the Piedmont Environmental Council and the Transportation Chair for the Virginia Sierra Club.

Again, FABB greatly appreciates all Douglas has done to move our organization forward. Thanks to his passion and sense of civic duty, Fairfax County is better for bicycling and so much more.
