The Reston Association is sponsoring three rides this spring and summer for bicyclists who are 55-years-old or older.

The first ride will be held on Tuesday, May 7, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Participants will meet at the Wiehle-Reston East Metrorail Station and take their bikes via Metro to the King Street station in Alexandria. From there, the group will explore Old Town before enjoying lunch at the Torpedo Factory. After lunch, the group will ride along the Potomac River on the Mount Vernon Trail to Rosslyn. They will then take their bikes on board the Metro for the return to Reston.

The second 55+ Bike Ride will be on Tuesday, June 4, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Starting at The Bike Lane at 11150 Sunset Hills Road in Reston, the group will explore various Civil War historical sites as the route runs into the City of Fairfax and then back to Reston.

The third ride in the series will feature a trip into the District of Columbia on Tuesday, June 18, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Riders will meet at the Wiehle-Reston East Metrorail Station, take the Metro into Rosslyn, and then hop on nearby trails to go into our nation’s capital. Riders will then use DC’s biking infrastructure to enjoy scenic and historic views. The group will have lunch downtown and then take a leisurely ride back via the trail system or  will board Metro for the return home.

The fee for each trip is $8.00 for Reston Association members and $10.00 for non-members. The cost of lunch and metro trips are extra.
