Sully District Proposed Bike Improvements

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) are proposing bicycle improvements to Northbourne Drive and Pleasant Valley Road in the Sully District as part of VDOT’s 2018 summer repaving program.

Northbourne Drive

FCDOT and VDOT are proposing to widen the shoulder on the Northbourne Drive section between Stringfellow Road and Melville Lane/Marshall Crown Road, and to add bike lanes between Melville Lane/Marshall Crown Road and High Grove Hills Lane.

Pleasant Valley Road

FCDOT and VDOT are proposing to add a northbound buffered bike lane on Pleasant Valley Road between Lee Highway and the entrance to the James McDonnell Recreation Center.

VDOT and FCDOT held a community information meeting on the Sully District repaving and restriping on January 31. The comment period is now closed.
