Please join FABB on Sunday, September 29, from 2 to 4 pm, in supporting the Friends of NoVi Trails as they celebrate the completion of new sidewalks and trails in Vienna and pay tribute to the community champions, including Supervisor Cathy Hudgins and former Congressman Jim Moran, whose hard work helped to create the trail network.

The Sidewalks Celebration will start at the Wolf Trap Barns parking lot (nearest Toll Road) at 2:00 pm and then will move by foot from the Barns to the Wolf Trap National Park pedestrian bridge for the unveiling of a bridge dedication. Participants will then return to the Barns meeting spot to mingle with neighbors and enjoy refreshments, including free Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.

We hope local bicyclists will join FABB on a six-mile bike ride (12 miles round trip) from Reston to the trails celebration. The ride will start at the Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station at 1:00 pm to arrive at the Barns parking lot in time to join the dedication and celebration. This slow-to moderate-paced ride will follow the W&OD Trail to Clarks Crossing Road and other streets to Wolf Trap. It includes a long hill climb to the trail along Beulah Road. The return ride to Wiehle-Reston East station will start at 3:30 pm.You can find more information on and register for the ride here. The ride is not recommended for children under the age of 16, and everyone must wear a helmet and sign the FABB liability waiver form. If you have questions, please contact Bruce Wright at 703-328-9619.

In case of heavy rain the event will be moved to Meadowlark Gardens Visitors, and the ride will be cancelled. If you questions, please contact [email protected] or call 703-403-7034.
