Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Pia Miller.

Plan now to join FABB at our virtual January meeting for a discussion with Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Pia Miller about how bike crash cases are handled in Fairfax County. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 19, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.

Ms. Miller, a graduate of The William and Mary Law School, focuses on community justice and policy. She will discuss in broad terms the prosecution of cases involving bike crashes and the decision making behind choosing which laws to apply and the framing of pre-trial settlements or plea deals.

Given the tragic loss of three bicyclists’ lives in Fairfax County in 2021, this is a timely meeting to learn more about how law enforcement and the courts are approaching the need for equitable enforcement of laws to protect vulnerable road users.

Participants must register in advance for this virtual Zoom meeting: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZ0odeCopjkpEtN4ZbUL5myYnaioQzcO5qj3

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information to enable you to join the meeting.

Please plan on joining us and voice your concerns and ideas about the justice system’s handling of crashes and enforcement.
