On behalf of the Fairfax Healthy Communities Coalition, FABB invites local residents to an upcoming walking tour at Inova’s new Center for Personalized Health campus on Thursday, October 17, 2019, from 3:00 to 4:30 pm. The walk will be followed by a Healthy Community Social at Merrifield’s Caboose Commons, starting at 5:00 pm.

The walk and talk will focus on transit and land use opportunities and challenges presented by the proposed development of the new Inova center. Recently approved plans for Inova include commitments on traffic and transit improvements along with the preservation of 30+ acres of forest for at least a generation.

FABB’s own Sonya Breehey and Howard Albers will be there to talk about bike lanes and other bicycling-related improvements to the area. Sonya and Douglas Stewart also will discuss options to increase transit opportunities and reduce traffic congestion.

FABB is a proud partner with the Fairfax Healthy Communities Coalition. The coalition believes that a fundamental shift in land use, transportation, housing and energy policies toward walkable, mixed-use, mixed-income, and transit-oriented and green energy communities along with the full engagement of the community are required to achieve a sustainable, inclusive, healthy, competitive, and fiscally viable future for Fairfax County.

Please plan now to support a fun and informative walk and community social. The Inova Center for Personalized Health is at 8100 Innovation Park Drive in Fairfax.
