• Support new and renovated park facilities in Fairfax County.
  • Vote “Yes” on Parks Bond proposal.

During the pandemic, the popularity of biking for recreation and maintaining mental well being has risen rapidly. The increased number of riders has highlighted the need for more and better outdoor facilities.

To make bicycling better in Fairfax County, FABB encourages local riders and others interested in making the county more bicycle friendly to vote this November in favor of the Parks Bond proposal. If passed, the bond will allow the county to borrow $112 million over ten years for additional parks and park facilities, preservation of open space, and the improvement of existing parks owned and operated by the Fairfax County Park Authority ($100,000,000) and the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority ($12,000,000). Plans include the renovation of trails, athletic fields, playgrounds and recreation centers benefiting all citizens along with the acquisition of land to serve park-deficient areas.

$11 million annually is a relatively modest expenditure to achieve these much needed improvements and additions. Please vote “Yes” on the bond proposal and encourage your family and friends to do the same.
