Looking for a great bicycling-related event for kids? Then FABB encourages you to take your children to the Herndon Bike Rodeo!

Herndon is promoting bike safety and bike skills for kids on Saturday, May 18, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Herndon Municipal Center at 777 Lynn Street (just off the W&OD Trail). The event is free and no registration required, but children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The highlight of the day is the bicycle rodeo from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, which is a clinic with multiple stations to teach children the skills and precautions to ride a bicycle safely.

But, the event will offer so much more:

  • a bike swap to exchange outgrown bikes for larger ones;
  • bike inspections and minor repairs to ensure safe riding;
  • a virtual reality game in a REAL Camaro to test diving and safety skills;
  • a limited number of bike helmets to be given away; and
  • refreshments.

Scooters are also welcome!  See you there!
