FABB is joining with the League of American Bicyclists in asking riders to take action to improve the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill.
The current version of the bill contains a lot of funding for projects to build safer, more accessible communities with better bicycling and walking. But, the bill can be better.
Please visit the League’s website (link below) to contact our Senators in support of several amendments that will fix some of the bill’s shortcomings. Including these amendments in the Senate version of the transportation reauthorization bill increases the chances that the best ideas from the House of Representatives INVEST Act will become part of the final law.
The proposed amendments bring back key parts of the Bicycle Commuter Benefit, require states to set road safety goals that actually reflect better safety outcomes as well as fix and maintain existing roads before building new ones.
