For Bike to Farmers Market Week, August 7-13, FABB is looking for volunteers to help us encourage shoppers to bike to their local market.
We hope to have enough volunteers to staff FABB tables at all ten of Fairfax County Park Authority farmers markets in Alexandria, Annandale, Burke, Herndon, Lorton, McLean, Oakton, and Reston. See this blog for details on the market locations.
- We’ll provide volunteers with a table and chairs, county bike maps, FABB info, and safety brochures to hand out to market attendees.
- If we have enough volunteers, we will set up 2-hour shifts, but we may need to ask for 4-hour shifts.
To prepare for the event, we’re also asking for volunteers to research bike routes to each market and check out the available bike parking. Fairfax County staff will then take our information and produce maps of bike routes around each market.
