FABB encourages local bicyclists to attend a community meeting hosted by the Fairfax County Department of Transportation to provide updates on the Route 28 widening project. The meeting is set for next Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at 7:00 pm in the cafeteria of Centre Ridge Elementary School at 14400 New Braddock Road in Centreville.

The project will widen Route 28 for a distance of approximately 2.3 miles from the existing bridge over Bull Run to the interchange at Route 29. Local riders need to speak up at the meeting to support plans for improving bicycle and pedestrian connections and crossings. Improvements are slated to include a new 10-foot wide shared-use path on both sides of Route 28.

If you are unable to attend, you can still provide your ideas and comments to FCDOT here.

Don’t miss this opportunity to show support for the county’s commitment to including multimodal options in its transportation projects.
