Our own Bruce Wright will lead a 13-mile ride through north Reston next Sunday, August 28 starting at 10 am. The ride will follow local trails, bike lanes, and some neighborhood streets with frequent stops to discuss points of interest in the area.

North Reston History Ride Route

You’ll hear about the infamous Monkey House, the Bowman Mansion, and the former site of the Virginia Gentleman distillery. The route also will pass and riders will learn about Browns Chapel, Lake Fairfax Park, and the new Route 7 trail currently under construction.

See route details on RideWithGPS.

Sign up for the ride at Eventbrite here.

Bruce asks that riders meet at 9:45 am in the parking lot of Isaac Newton Square, located just north of the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station. The group will ride slowly to maintain its cohesion, especially on the few hills on the route. If the group splits up, the ride will pause until everyone is back together.

Helmets are required, and all riders must sign a liability waiver.

In the event of rain, the ride will be postponed to Sunday, September 4.

Don’t wait! Register today!
