Springfield area riders should plan now to participate in the Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) virtual meeting on the Cinder Bed Road Bikeway project on next Monday, May 10, 2021, at 7 pm.

This project will provide an approximately two-mile-long continuous shared-use path between Newington Road and the Franconia-Springfield Metro Station. The planned path will be constructed along the west side of Cinder Bed Road and then connect to an existing trail through Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) property. It then will continue through private property to tie into the trail at the end of Barry Road that leads to the Franconia/Springfield Metro Station. Two pedestrian bridges will be constructed to cross Long Branch and complete the path.

To participate and show your support for these important county bike infrastructure projects, you can register online or dial in at 1-844-621-3956 using Access Code: 173 127 5607.
