• Sign up now for Commuter Connections’ Car Free Day 2021
  • Registrants can win prizes.

Registration opened last week for metropolitan Washington’s Car Free Day 2021, which is set for Wednesday, September 22. This environmentally friendly annual event organized by Commuter Connections encourages commuters, residents, parents, and students across the region to go “car free” by offering the chance to win prizes as they reduce traffic congestion.

To enter, go to carfreemetrodc.org and make the pledge to go car free by biking, walking, rolling or using transit or go “car-lite” by sharing a ride with friends, family or co-workers. Registrants will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win great prizes from this year’s event sponsors, including a Samsung tablet, gift cards to popular restaurants and stores, annual memberships, transit passes, and more!

Everyone who takes the pledge also will be sent a $30 promocode from Nift (Neighborhood Gift) to spend at local neighborhood businesses.

Car Free Day is a great time to try bike commuting and, as needed, combining your ride with using the bus or Metrorail. Biking to work one or more days a week will help improve communities by reducing pollution and congestion.

Learn more and take the free pledge at www.carfreemetrodc.org.
