FABB encourages all cyclists in Fairfax County to sign up today for the 2019 National Bike Challenge. This is a nationwide event that unites thousands of new and existing bicyclists across the country in friendly competition designed to celebrate and encourage biking.

The Challenge runs from May 1st to September 30th and is sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists and Love to Ride. Your participation not only helps support a healthier, more sustainable, and bike-friendly USA, it gives you an opportunity to challenge your friends and others to get out and ride.

The NBC website allows you to keep track of your rides, find resources to help you ride more confidently, win prizes, and share with your friends and colleagues. There are two month-long workplace challenges in May and September where the businesses you work for can compete. Civic and other organizations also are invited to compete with other organizations in the same size category. Interested? You can find more details here.

Last year Fairfax riders came in fourth in the communities with one million or more residents category, just behind the San Francisco Bay Area, Atlanta, and Philadelphia. Let’s see if we can’t give Philly a more serious challenge this year.

Again, FABB wants to spread the love of bicycling by combining the Challenge with your enthusiasm for biking. Please sign up today and join us out on the roads and trails.
