Plan now to join the Potomac Pedalers for Biketoberfest on September 14, 2019. The group will be leading two rides to welcome in the fall. Plus participants can enjoy a genuine Oktoberfest featuring great grilled bratwurst, chilled beverages, and German music after the ride.

The Biketoberfest start point and Oktoberfest activities will be at the Accotink Unitarian Universalist Church at 10125 Lakehaven Court in Burke. A 24-mile ride starts at 9 am and goes to scenic Occoquan Regional Park, where restrooms and water are available, and then returns via quiet residential streets, shady parkland, and a paved trail above Lake Mercer. A 15-mile ride starts at 10 am and goes through pleasant neighborhoods and along wide paved paths paralleling the Fairfax County Parkway and Route 123.

After the ride, you can stretch your legs and maybe even do the Chicken Dance at the Octoberfest from 11am to 2 pm. In addition, traditional Volksmarches (self-guided 3- and 6-mile walks) around Burke Lake sponsored by Northern Virginia Volksmarchers will start between 8 am and 1 pm.

There is no charge for the ride and no need to preregister. Everyone is welcome, and the event will be held in most weather conditions. An adult must accompany children under 12. Bike helmets must be worn and a cue sheet will be provided. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time for your ride.

Accotink Unitarian Universalist Church is just one block south of the Fairfax County Parkway (SR 286) and Burke Lake Road. Parking is free in the church parking lots and along Lakehaven Court.
